Keyboard faults can come from several places
One key, a whole row, backlight, touchpad, trackpad or random input can point to keyboard, ribbon cable, top case, liquid, battery swelling or motherboard. That is why we test more than the key itself.
When the whole top case must be assessed
On some laptops and MacBooks, keyboard, palm rest, trackpad or backlight are integrated in a way that can make single-key or simple keyboard replacement poor value. We explain part choice and price before ordering.
